Boundaries

It's safe to say that we don’t practice this nearly enough in today’s society. We may feel that by setting healthy boundaries and not allowing just anyone access to us makes us seem too demanding and snobbish. We may think that having healthy boundaries will push away friends, family, and those we care the most about. But in reality, boundaries won’t make you lose friends and relatives, boundaries will only make you lose manipulators, narcissist, and pretenders. Our boundaries are what protects our peace and spirit from people and things who may not always mean us any harm, but also doesn’t mean us any good. It’s our safe place where we can say no and not feel guilty about it. It’s important to establish boundaries with everyone who wishes to be a part of your life. With this you are showing others how you wish to be treated and respected so that they know from the beginning what you will not tolerate. That gives them the option to respect your boundaries or move on accordingly. This would also give others the courage and motivation to practice having healthy boundaries of their own. It fosters a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. And when you have those healthy boundaries in place, it teaches you to know your self worth. And it allows everyone else to know it and respect it as well. There will be no fooling you sis!
