Get Up

Have you ever heard of the saying, “A cluttered mind leads to a cluttered space”? Depression, sadness, grief, and just feeling down thrives on chaos and disorganization. And when the mind feels chaotic and disorganized so can be our surroundings. But we can’t allow this to take over our lives, we sometimes have to pull ourselves out of it. You just need to take the first step towards getting back to yourself. Get up! Put on some of your favorite upbeat music. Take a shower, brush your teeth and put on your favorite scented perfume or body butter. Get dressed, do your hair, and start cleaning your space. Light some candles. Wash your dishes and wipe down your counters. Start a load of laundry. Make your bed and fluff your pillows. Sweep and mop your floors. Bleach your bathroom. Organize your closet, cabinets, and pantry. Clean any and everything you need to stay moving. I know you’re sad and you may feel like you’re in a dark space and that the world is against you, but get up and start moving. This is one simple step that you can take to begin getting back to yourself. And once you’re done and you are relaxing in your clean, organized space, smelling your scented candles, you can look around and see all that you have accomplished. You can be proud of yourself for getting up and taking those first steps towards getting back to you. Just by getting up you have hit the reset button. This can help to put you in a much better mindset than before, clearing away some of the chaotic disorganized energy in your mind. You can now move on to the next steps and tasks to keep you motivated and moving forward.
